Most matches on (posted 19th Jan)

With teams given the go-ahead from the Council to use pitches this weekend, most games will be on pending pitch inspections. This means that most teams still in the cup will get their first chance since early December to play their 2nd round cup games. The down side will be that as a result, most league fixtures will be off. The U16s manager made several attempts to re-schedule a league fixture, but was unable to do so.

The chances are extremely high that next week will see them back in action as they play New Mills, who have their own pitch.

Training to be shared at Cheadle Hulme (posted 8th October)

Training starts this week at a floodlit facility at Cheadle Hulme High School. The astroturf venue is a full size pith that has ample room for the split for use as two smaller pitches. There are also goals that can be moved to suit as well as two full size goals. Training starts at 7pm and finishes at 8pm.

The U17's will be joining in with the U16's for a trial period to see how it works on one half, and the U15's will be using the other half.

In the public eye (posted 4th October)

The Wednesday edition (3rd Oct) of the Stockport Express published the U16's team photo. This usually follows on that the free papers (Stockport Times and Manchester Metro Stockport Edition) also publish the same article either the same or following week.

It all helps the profile of the club and our sponsors, so if you can buy a copy, please do so. We also encourage you to support your local news publisher by asking your parents to buy a copy each week. We will be sending match reports to the paper for publication, so players of all our teams may be getting a mention in the paper. That is of course if you send a match report to the website, so don't forget to do that.

Any U16's players who do not have a framed copy of the picture, one is available free on request from Dave or John.

Apparently, travellers are back in the Stockport area at Abney Hall.

so you will not be able to use the car park on Sunday.

As a result you will have to park on the road outside.
Please be considerate to the residents when parking.

Possible tournament info (posted 3rd August)

As you were informed on 30th July, we are looking into the cost of a tournament abroad for the U16s, and maybe another or other teams. We will then make a decision depending on the feedback of parents and players. Another option is a mainland UK tournament, but we want to give the players a chance to have a once in a life time experience. Remember, we will be looking to reduce the costs by various means, so don't be scared off just yet about the possible costs.

We have been in contact with a company who organises such trips, and will be shortly finding a rough idea of the costs based on this years prices. The first trip to be explored will be in Holland for the Amsterdam Cup. You can see some information on this by following the links below :-

European Tournament 2007? (posted 30th July)

The U16's are currently looking at the possibility of playing in a European tournament  next pre-season. If this does happen, there is a good chance that another age group will have an opportunity to go along. The idea is in the very early stages at the moment, so let us know what you think. It is the intention that some fund raising will be taking place, so it is important that a decision is made early by your manager if he wishes your team to be involved. Typical tournaments are played in Ireland, Holland, Germany, Spain & France. Keep checking this website for updates on the progress of the idea, and give your team a chance of being involved by sending your comments and ideas.

U16's To Continue (posted 3rd April)

The under 16's management team of Geraint Richards and Brian Fisher have announced that the team will be continuing to play next season. Moving up to the U17's division next season was confirmed as the squad expressed a desire to continue. This is great news for the club and I am sure we all wish them the best of luck for next season.

U12's Sponsorship (posted 28th March)

Under 12's are currently trying to obtain sponsorship from Micker Brook, Brewers Fayre. They should know in the next few weeks if they have been successful.
